In Ames test using Salmonella tryphimurium(TA97, TA98, TA100, TA102), no. of revertant was not significant and dose-dependant in comparing each plate added bovine somatotraphin(BST) at dose levels of 0.5㎍/plate, 2.5㎍/plate, 5.0㎍/plate with control plate.
Micronucleus test was carried out in ICR mice subcutaneously treated with BST at Three dose levels of 0.5 ㎍/plate, 2.5㎍/plate. 5.0㎍/plate compared with mice of negative control group. No of chromosome aberration of V79(chinese hamster lung) cells treated with BST at three close levies were not significant.
Therefore, it was concluded that BST was not mutagenic agents.
